I had an acoustic neuroma removed 13 years ago. The balance comes back slowly but if you are like me, it never comes back totally. I can't stand on one foot, ride a bicycle. Most of my balance seems to be visual. In total darkness I louse my balance. My surgery totally distroyed the nerves for hearing and balance on my right side. After coming out of surgery I had awful problems adjusting to the loss of the balance nerve. I threw up almost constantlly for a day or two. During the rehab I went thru the exercises to regain balance. I still can't walk a strait line, place one foot directly in front of the other without falling over. I hope this does not discourage you but this was my experience. Bill |
