I had my AN removed 5 years ago and I'm doing very well.
In fact I just gave birth to my first baby boy and I'm pretty sure you have to be somewhat healthy to do that... I do have the constant ringing, no matter how loud my surroundings are, it ALWAYS WINS! but, that really doesn't bother me so much. I'm deaf in one ear, I think it is harder for my fam. and friends to deal with that one: "What?", "Let me walk on the other side of you", "Move over, I need to sit hear so I can hear everyone"...just to name a few... Recovery was a bit harsh, but I really didn't know what to expect. I went into surgery very soon after I found my AWESOME doctor. For instance, I didn't know that I was going to be dizzy for months and that it was b/c my balance nerve was cut and it was not going to heal, but that my brain was incharge of regaining my balance back. That scared me b/c I doubted my BRAIN! No problem though, I'm good now! If/when I'm dizzy only I notice it and I can 'correct' it right away. As for reoccurance, gee I hadn't thought about it...I go in for my 5 year MRI follow up...I'll let ya know... |
